That’s Good Stuff, Right there.

Warning! Very random post ahead. Just needing to update what we are up to this summer for my own memories. Thanks for reading. 😉 I am LOVING this summer. LOVING it. Having the kids and Collin at home all day long…I’d forgotten how great that really is. Mak and CB are rapidly going between periods...

Oh my, I have some travel advice. Check everything you can. Unless your kids are unlike mine and WILL actually help you carry stuff without whining. I had the ability to wash stuff, too, so I set a limit: five outfits for the big two + me, ten for the baby. I’m glad I did. I was able to fit everything I needed into one big duffel. You have the added benefit of NOT having to take diapers.

Take lots of candy. Who cares about their teeth and sugar intake, they’re gonna be wired anyways. Dum Dums saved my sanity on the last flight.

Pack one extra outfit for all in your carry on. I was without my bags for two days thanks to cancelled flights.

My only other bit of advice after watching them drop my bag 8 feet from the back of the plane, don’t check anything you don’t want broken.

    Happy Travels!

Oh and I love love love the drippy chin shots. Too cute!ReplyCancel

To Market, To Market…

But not to buy a fat pig. More like to keep my kids from becoming fat pigs. This is what my facebook status read on Monday: new goal for the summer as of this morning: get these children of mine to eat vegetables. You know, the good stuff that comes straight from God’s green earth....

Not fair – I have tried everything to get the 3 year old to eat any vegetable or fruit. All he will eat is mac & cheese and chicken nuggets. (he does eat the chicken though.) I’ve been to the farmers market with him but he still won’t eat it once it’s home. hmmm.ReplyCancel

I love the cousin pics. They made me laugh out loud. So cute! And it reminded me that I need to get out to the Farmer’s Market too.ReplyCancel

The Farmers Market excites me too! All the beautiful, bright colored veggies and fruit! Yum! Also makes you just feel good knowing you are supporting local farming families! We’ve been on the same quest for a better diet with our kids since last year. It has taken some time, but it has improved! There is hope! In the beginning, I dreaded dinnertime, because I knew it would be a battle. And it was, but we stayed consistent. It wasn’t overnight or even over a few weeks. It is not a complete balanced diet, but we have come a long way. I’ve tried to incorporate dinner theme nights…we might decorate a little, dress up a little (served grilled fish and it was Under the Sea night with Ariel), etc… Best of luck to you…you can do it!!ReplyCancel

CB turned FOUR!!!

There will be a sappy post about my baby turning four in the near future…I’m just not ready for it yet. Don’t tell anyone, but I’m still kind of pretending that she’s not growing up. Shhhh…;) Her birthday was super simple. We did it in my parent’s backyard. Which just happens to back up to...

That was such a good birthday party idea!! Ricky and I have been known to frequent the swings at Briggs when in Florence, it’s a perfect evening stroll from my parent’s house. I remember when they first built the green stuff with the balance beam and stuff it was SUCH a big deal for the Patterson little girls 🙂ReplyCancel

Mak’s 5K Graduation

5K graduation…it’s not reeeeeally that big of a deal, right? I mean it’s mostly for the kid, not the parent…right? WRONG!!! I just knew I wasn’t going to cry. And then they flashed that three year old boy of mine’s face up on the screen for the slideshow and, well, the floodgates opened. He was...
