Miss Audrey’s first birthday!

So Saturday was insanely busy with all of the Brothers and Sisters sessions (which went really well, by the way!). After the first few sessions were over, though, I slipped away and headed over to Hartsville to photograph a completely WONDERFUL first birthday party. I could not imagine a party more perfectly suited for Miss...

    St. Patrick’s Day 2011

I LOVE Florence. Seriously. I grew up here and all of my life I swore I would live far away from this tiny town when I was an adult. What in the world was I thinking?! Sure we are lacking in some areas, but really, FUN family events like the one we participated in yesterday...

      Today’s one of those days…

when my hair will get washed but it probably won’t be dried…make-up will not touch my cheeks…school will not begin until the hour that it’s usually over…kids more than likely won’t make it out of pajamas…laundry will be done but not folded and put away…many books will be read…I will jump up and shove the...

      our school

I woke up yesterday morning and realized that so far this year I haven’t taken any photos of Mak at school. And school has been a pretty big deal for us this year, so I feel that it deserves to be documented. Besides the whole “birthing him” event, I’d say teaching him has been the...

I loved all you had to share. You are doing a fantastic job as a momma AND a teacher! What a gift you are giving him! The school room is fantatic:) Almost makes me wish we were home schooling so we could do a fun room! I know it’s so much more than getting a fun room though:) Everyone has an opinion about everything… it’s just hard when its something you care so much about and their thoughts are on the opposite side. I’m going back to work part time b/c I miss it and I feel that it is part of my ministry area He has called me to… just like staying at home the past 5 years was what He called me to as well. Yes, I get “the look” when people find out I’m choosing to return to work. It’s like I’m feeding my kids to the wolves:) I pray it works out for us and we survive the transition. I also pray He will guide me and allow me to see if this is not working for our family. We are also blessed that we will not have to choose daycare for our kids to do this. Will never know till I try! I’m so happy you tried and it has worked so well for your family! I’ve enjoyed your homeschool stories…keep ’em coming!ReplyCancel

AMEN ARON! I LOVE this post. This topic is one that is close to my heart. Now having a baby and being a teacher makes me realize everyday that homeschooling seems more and more like the best way to teach a child. It’s sad that homeschooling has such a stigma attached. Mama’s are supposed to teach their children -whether it’s manners or math – that’s our job! 🙂ReplyCancel

Go ahead with your bad self! There are people out there that give homeschooling a bad name, but I think 99% of homeschooling parents are in it for the right reasons. I look forward to joining in, too. 🙂ReplyCancel

      A really great day

The kids’ bathwater tonight was dirtier than it’s been since October. That makes me happy because it means they played HARD outside all day today. In shorts. It was an unbelievably gorgeous day. Actually, I guess I don’t know if Mak’s bathwater was dirty or not because he takes showers now…all on his own. As...
