We celebrated Mak turning four for a few days, and still aren’t really done! Birthdays are a HUGE deal to me. It’s so important that the birthday person (especially if it’s my kid) feels super-special on their special day. So, the past few days have been “all about Makgill”. Here’s what we did!
We started the Birthday “stuff” on Monday, by giving Mak the loft bed that we got him for his present from us. He was SO SURPRISED and he LOVES it!
We also had some “Mighty Makgill” posters made for his room.
This is the part he calls “God’s fort”.
Of course he immediately did just what we were scared of…jumped off the top. We had a long talk about the purpose of ladders.
Baby CB had a great time playing in Bub-o’s bed!
Sword fight!
He’s not mad here, it just looks that way. This is his “fighting off the mean people” face.
Isn’t my boy cool?!?
Now to the actual birthday, Tuesday. We started off with our traditional birthday cake for breakfast. Clara Beth was still sleeping, so it was just Makgill, Collin, and me. We had a good time reminiscing with our little guy.
He went to school, and we came joined him for his class party later in the morning. He chose a Spiderman cake for this one. I’m not really sure why, because he doesn’t really “know” Spiderman. He enjoyed it, though!
They have this cute little birthday ritual thing that they do. It was fun to see him with his teacher and watch his classmates sing to him.
The actual moment that he turned 4- 10:56am! We were on our way to Toys R Us.
After playing at Toys R Us for an hour or so and leaving with a few new toys, we headed to Mak’s FAVORITE place to eat…Chick-Fil-A! When we arrived, we ran into the lovely Olivia and her beautiful Mommy, Courtney. This made my boy pretty happy. He’s had a crush on Mrs. Courtney for a few months now!
They both ate a little bit of food and then played for a long time on the playground.
Then it was time for ice cream!
He kept his eyes on the playground, though!
Back home for a nap for Miss CB and setting up his new train with Daddy.
Then we had a class at the Young Chefs Academy, a Christmas present from Reeves, Rebecca, and Tallon. He LOVED it!
He especially loved this assistant. He said she was pretty!
They made cake…how fitting!
Then the class sang Happy Birthday to him.
And finally on to Li-Li and Boom-Boom’s for the Family party. This time, he chose a Mickey Mouse cake. He had a great time playing with his aunts, uncles, and grandparents, and especially Tallon!
It was a fun and exciting day, and I think Mak really enjoyed turning 4. I know we had fun helping him celebrate! His birthday party isn’t for a couple more weeks, so stay tuned for more birthday fun!
