The Tyner Wedding

I can think of no place I would have rather been Saturday night than at the wedding of Anna Weston and Ricky. It was perfect. And Gorgeous. And so many other wonderful things, but most of all, it was overflowing with LOVE. I witnessed a parent’s love for their child on both the bride and groom’s side, sister love, brother-sister love, friend love and of course, most importantly, brand new husband and wife love. It was beautiful.

Trust me, A LOT of people were anxiously anticipating this day. Anna Weston and Ricky have been together since they were young teenagers. They have literally grown up together. I absolutely loved seeing the photographs of them throughout their dating years. And just before Anna Weston was escorted down the aisle by her daddy she said it hit her…she was FINALLY marrying this man that she loves so much.

The ceremony was beautiful, and when the pastor spoke about God knitting Anna Weston and Ricky together in their mothers’ wombs and knowing that this moment would take place before they were even born I definitely teared up a bit. So often I forget how in control of life our Creator is, and their ceremony was such a beautiful reminder of that to me.

And then the reception…Magical. You know what you envision in your head as the stereotypical Southern summer evening? That was last night. Everything…the dirt road leading to the magnificent old southern plantation complete with giant front porch…the wheat fields glowing in the sunset…the twinkling white lights in the giant old oak trees…the tents with the band playing and the feet of the shaggers flying…it was SOUTHERN. Anna Weston and Ricky never left each other’s side and were clearly thrilled that they were finally husband and wife. They danced and greeted their guests, and had the happiest smiles on their faces the entire time.

And one other reason that may have made this wedding even more magical in my eyes? Because ten years ago I was that bride. And I was marrying the man of my dreams. And we were the ones dancing in the yard of that same great big plantation home. Last night the band started playing our song, What a Wonderful World, and I just had to kiss the photographer. 🙂 I’m a sappy mess this week with Clara Beth turning four and Collin and I celebrating our ten year anniversary and to hear that song in that place just about did me in. And then our WONDERFUL bride and groom insisted that we come out on the dance floor…and they didn’t even know it was our song…and I have to say I could never get a better tenth anniversary gift than that. Thank you, Anna Weston and Ricky. You two seriously made my night!

I could go on and on forever about this night but I’ll let the images speak for themselves. Anna Weston and Ricky, thank you for letting us be part of this day. I promise you will remember it forever. And I highly recommend going back to The Columns on your tenth anniversary, hiring Riptide (Fabulous band, by the way!!) and dancing to your song again. 🙂 Enjoy your honeymoon!
