Clara Beth has been changing so fast lately. Mostly in her language, but we have also noticed advancements in that prissy missy little attitude of hers. In fact, I’m not sure the word “little” should be anywhere in the description of her attitude. It’s more like “ATTITUDE”! Lately, we’ve enjoyed several meals with high-pitched shrieking in the background because the food of her choice was not on her plate. I was much more likely to give in when Makgill hit this demanding stage. Unfortunately for Prissy Missy, Collin and I have taken several parenting Bible Studies since then and grown up a lot as parents. So she doesn’t get what she wants when pitching a fit. STINKS to be the second child! As annoying as the tantrums are, it’s also kind of funny to watch. That girl is PASSIONATE!
I have to say I’m a little sad about the language developments that are occurring. She’s losing her “baby” words. “Waw” used to be her word for water, but in the last week she has been saying “water” plain as day. Every morning she used to say “Mommy dink hot foppy” but now it’s “Mommy dink hot coffee”. “Foppy” was one of my favorite baby words, but as much as I beg, I can’t get her to say it anymore! Perhaps the saddest of them all for me, is that she has started calling Makgill “Makgill”. NOT Bub-o. Not all of the time, but often enough. She named Mak Bub-o when she was 10 months old, and I was hoping it would stick forever. I’m trying to ignore it and hope that she will go back to Bub-o. That worked during that awful time when Makgill started calling me “Mom,” not “Mommy”. We’ll see.
We’re LOVING our girl at this stage, prissy missy attitude and all!
My Mom and Dad brought her some princess sparkle shoes back from Disney this week, and she LOVES them! They’re hilariously HUGE on her!
Sweet pictures! I love the one where she’s leaning on the house! It’s a sad day when they stop saying those baby words that we’ve grown to love and cherish! Owen still says two words
…oops! Owen still says two words, poinky (for pinkie) and harcamonica…I know the day is coming, sooner than I think, when he’ll realize or some ‘big’ kid will tell him the ‘correct’ way to pronounce those words.
What a cutie pie. It is hard to imagine that she could have an attitude!

Absolutely GORGEOUS! She is amazing. I can’t believe how fast she is growing up. Wasn’t just yesterday I was about to have Luke and Aron told me in the parking lot of Percy and Willy’s that she was pregnant? Little did we know what was in store. Clara Beth – we love you!
What beautiful blue eyes she has! Isn’t amazing how quickly they grow up??
Aron, I’ve been meaning to comment since you put this post up. Clara Beth is so cute. I really love her little shoes and pigtails!

We want to recruit her!!! Our all girl band “The Smithette’s” needs a tambourine player. Our look is: pigtails, happenin’ sneakers, all ’round prissy attitude, and most of all SMITH SPIRIT!!!
😀 Love the pig tails!
