Personal Post: Our Auggie Doggy

Honestly, I’m not even sure how this happened. We got another dog. The cutest little doggie in the whole entire world. My brother and sister in law got a puppy and we were at the home of the breeder, who happens to be a long time friend, meeting their little one. Collin was insisting (jokingly) that if only one of the buff ones was still available he’d absolutely get it, but alas, those were all claimed. Mak and CB were begging him to reconsider. I was laughing and rolling my eyes, knowing that one of these sweet pups was absolutely going to end up in our home. I mean, you can’t meet and hold a puppy that’s this cute and not want one. It’s just impossible. And wouldn’t you know it, the next day one of those sweet little buff puppies became available. The person he was promised to fell in love with a chocolate puppy instead. Margaret (the breeder) texted us and the rest is history. Auggie became the newest little Smith. We named him Auggie after the main character in a book that we recently read and fell in love with, Wonder. So far Auggie has proved to be the most aggravatingly adorable little thing we’ve ever welcomed into our home. Really, it’s just pottying that we’re having issues with. He’s training us well. 😉 Emme hates him and pretty much hates us too for getting him. I have high hopes that she’ll come around. She hated us for getting the cat too, and she got over that. Besides the potty issues, we are loving every minute of having this new puppy around the house! He is unbelievably soft and fluffy, and watching him play is highly entertaining. And he’s so smart! We are very much in love with this little guy and I’m so glad he’s ours! And because we do what we do, we did a puppy newborn session with him. Y’all, he was SO OUT at the end of it! So out that he kind of fell out of the basket we placed him in. I laugh every time I look at these. Meet our new little guy, Auggie Smith. He’s an Australian Labradoodle for those who are wondering!
