My Little Skater Boy

Mak has been begging for a skateboard for Forever. I have been saying No for Forever. It just seems like a bad idea to me. I mean, putting my boy on an unstable little board on WHEELS?! Un-Unh. Not my baby. See, I’m kind of {hugely} a worrier and I could just see broken arms and awful gashes. I’m an over-reactor, too. 😉 But…the cute little boy begged and on Christmas morning there was a Spider Man skateboard sitting in his pile of loot. And knee pads, elbow pads, and safety gloves in his stocking. 😉 It rained all day on Christmas so there was no skateboarding, but the day after Christmas he was finally able to do it. And you know what?? He just jumped right on and DID it. No fear at all. He loved it and he was good at it. Do you ever have one of those weeks with your kid where they just seem to grow up right before your eyes? That was my week with Mak last week. Not sure what it was, exactly, but he is a KID to me, not a young child. He will be SIX this month. You have to use two hands to make 6, as my friend Jessica always tells me. That’s a lot!! Anyway, I didn’t intend this post to be all about my Baby Mak growing up. Sorry. 🙂

Here are some pics of my boy on a skateboard for the first time. He thought he was so cool! So did I. 😉

And, of course, My Baby. We have an agreement…she’s just gonna stay little forever. 🙂

And, yeah, he may be big enough for a skateboard, but he’s not too big for Mickey underoos. LOVE him!!

Collin’s going to do a for real session with him on the skateboard for his six year session. I can’t wait!

You need to head to Salty’s for the proper skateboarding shoes because he looks like a natural! He’ll be doing kick flips before you know it! Mak is so adventerous, I don’t know if there’s a sport he wouldn’t try! 🙂ReplyCancel

Oh, but he looks so cute in his Chuck Taylors! But proper shoes are a must, I guess! I love this post! The whole “you have to use two hands to make six” and you and CB agreeing that she’ll stay little forever–so cute and sweet! Thanks for sharing these pictures!ReplyCancel

LOVE this! DREAD the day my 2 ask for a skate board…it will come complete with a marshmellow suite and helment:) Having a peds ICU/trauma/heart nurse for a momma has done them no favors in the recreation department:) Quads are OUT of the question! Such a fuddle dude I am! Can’t wait to see his “official” shoes. Sounds like he needs a Hurley hoodie while your at it! Looking forward to his 6 year pics. Sadly this is our last year on one hand:( Love how y’all capture your kids and what they are into at that time. marthaReplyCancel

Ha ha! Felix has some Meeska Mouska undies, too. And…none of my kids have kept their agreements to stay little. Kids lie, it’s a fact. 🙂ReplyCancel
