*this post was started after Clara Beth’s recital but I didn’t have time to finish it. 😉 I’m going to go ahead and post it, though! *
was AMAZING tonight. She completely blew my mind. This is totally NOT her thing. Being in the limelight in front of hundreds of people? Not my shy little girl. But she ROCKED it. She marched out onto that stage and she danced her little heart out. And no one in the world could ever convince me that she is not the best dancer ever. Period. I love that child so much!
Seriously, we were SO proud of her tonight. Not because of the dancing. I mean, really, she’s three (I can still say that for a couple more days!), there was not a ton of skill involved. I’m just so happy that she went out there. She’s been saying all year long that she wasn’t going to dance at her recital and usually when Miss CB says something, Miss CB means it. I really wanted her to do it, though. I’m not ashamed to admit that a little bit of bribery was involved. I’m quite sure that the large bouquet of pretty pink roses and gift bags full of pink presents just for her were a pretty big motivating factor. After it was all over we asked her if she had fun and she responded “Yes! I danced my prettiest and my hardest!” She also said she was very tired from all that dancing. Did I mention that the recital started at CB’s bedtime?
I’m just so proud of her and all of those cute little dancers we saw last night. I had no idea how CUTE it would be to see classes of three and four year olds chaotically dancing around on a stage. I knew it would be cute…but I had no idea it would be this cute, you know? Most of the pictures in this post are from dress rehearsal, but it all looked pretty much the same on the night of.
Getting ready…no small feat. Her hair had to be pulled back into a bun…not easy.
I told her to hold tight to the counter and not move a muscle. She moved her eyes. 🙂
Aren’t they ADORABLE?!?!?!
Walking on “pretty toes”
LOVE those teeny legs in tights and ballet shoes!!!
And then after the actual recital…
Clara Beth, we are so proud of you, Sweet girl!!!
Absolutely precious! I love them all! I can’t wait for Anna to start dance classes, but right now I can’t imagine her cooperating! Hopefully she’ll be ready by next year!
Soooo very sweet! What a beautiful ballerina!
Why is it that every time I read your blog I decide that four kids really won’t make me crazy?? It seems your blog has some magical power that makes me forget that I only have boys! 🙂
She is so stinkin’ cute! I love the “don’t move a muscle” shot and the one w/the bookbag on with her, “yeah, I did it” face.
🙂
