Let’s Dance!!!

I have been waiting to do this Limited Edition since last September. Collin and I just couldn’t figure out that perfect time for it. Well, we stopped trying to figure it out and we’re just going to do it…Let’s Dance! Remember those photos that Collin took of Clara Beth just before she started her very first dance class last year? She was barely three…and she was in a soft pink leotard…and her tights were so stinkin’ cute on her little legs…and she stood up high on her tippy-toes just like the big girl ballerinas. For Real, I ADORE those photos of my baby. Who knows how long this dance career of hers will last. Maybe through her early childhood, maybe into adolescence, maybe forever. No matter what, I will always treasure these portraits of my tiny dancer.

So, that’s where “Let’s Dance” came from. If you have a daughter who dances, you know that dancing occupies so much of her time and thoughts. I often say that Clara Beth dances her way through life. She doesn’t walk or run…she twirls, leaps, and steps on tiptoes. Let’s Dance is for your tiny dancer who hasn’t quite mastered her steps with perfection, but knows she loves to twirl more than anything. Your girl whose chubby legs look so adorable in her tights. And it’s for your slightly older girl who is learning that there is order behind all of those steps she learns in dance class. The girl who is becoming more and more graceful in her movements right before your eyes. But it’s also for your girl who has been dancing for years. She eats, sleeps and breathes everything dance and knows that it will be a lifelong passion of hers. It’s for every dancer.

We don’t necessarily want the fancy costumes of recitals and performances for this Limited Edition. Those costumes are beautiful and there is certainly a time and place for portraits in them. After all, you more than likely get those portraits of her every year before her recital. We want to get to the heart of dancing…why your baby girl loves it the way she does. We want to photograph her in the outfits that she wears when she is learning these beautiful dances. I love the worn out shoes and the simplicity of a leotard and skirt. The grace of the dancer really comes shining through. And that’s what we are after…gracefulness. I hope that you all love “Let’s Dance” as much as we do!

Let’s Dance will be held January 27, 28 and 29 and is suitable for any age dancer. And here’s the BEST part. Session fees are $45, but, YOU specify the dance school of your choice and we will donate $15 of that session fee to that school. Yep, some dance schools could be benefitting big time from these sessions! We will have custom products that are available only from these sessions, and as with all of our Limited Editions, portraits are up to 50% off. Call or email to schedule yours soon! 665-4646 or collin@cmsmithportraits.com
