Fred ’08 comes to The Drive-In

Every once in a while you get an unexpected call, or in this case a text message. Last night at about 8:00 PM I received a text from Pauline at The Drive In saying that Fred Thompson was going to be there at lunch, and she wanted to know if I could come to photograph. I was excited. Thankfully, my Wednesday morning session had already rescheduled, so I was free. When I got there, it was a little close to chaos, at least for the campaign guy that was in charge of things. He had the daunting task of coordinating Fred’s arrival. I had special permission to go anywhere, vital permission once Fred arrived.

Fox News was there. That is all I needed to hear to convince me that I needed to be there. By far my favorite news channel.

Waiting out back with Pauline, Nick, Helen, and George, the bus arrived and Fred’s traveling photographer got off the bus and joined us. I was thrilled to have special permission to be there and photograph Fred as he came off the bus and met with The Drive In owners. It was exciting to be there.

Once inside the restaurant, Mr. Thompson gave his speech and answered questions. I will not get into politics on this blog, so I will not get into the content of his campaign, but I do think he has a lot of very good things to say about some very important topics.

Overall, this was a unique highlight to my career. A very different type of fulfillment from photographing newborns, children, weddings, and families. I am thrilled that I have such a wonderful relationship with The Drive In. I eat there A LOT, by the way, and you should too!!!

Fred is the best candidate out there. Factcheck.org finds error or out-in-out lies in the ads, speeches and debates of candidates. Everyone but Fred makes their list consistently. We need a president with integrity and strengh. Fred Thompson show that! Thank you Collin for the great pictures!ReplyCancel
