Guys…THANK YOU! Really, there are so many more feelings we have than could ever be summed up into words, but these two do it best. Thank you. Collin and I were blown away when we learned that we had been voted Best of the Pee Dee again. Because our studio doesn’t have a ton of extra space, we have those Best of The Pee Dee plaques stacked in a corner upstairs…nine out of the past ten years. And they mean SO MUCH to us. Because they are from YOU, the people of the Pee Dee whom we love! We are doing what we love and what we feel God has called us to, and to be recognized as doing an ok job at it just makes a person feel good! Thank you for that! Of course there are days when we feel every bit of the WORK that this career is. When Collin’s desk is piled high and he is drowning in orders that need to be sent off, when two year olds simply will NOT smile at us, when I look down at my shirt and realize that I just greeted a client with newborn poop smeared across me. Yeah, that happened Friday. It’s a glamorous life, I tell ya. But this business is a gift straight from the Lord and the blessings that He brings us through it are way too numerous to count. We are so completely undeserving of any of the gifts that He gives…and yet we are so grateful that He gives freely, time after time after time. Friday we had the opportunity to stand with and document one of our favorite families as they learned if their fourth baby would be a boy or a girl. They trusted us to be there with them in this moment! That blows me away! And of course you all know that I’m a highly emotional, wear my feelings on my sleeve woman, but I seriously had tears in my eyes as I watched my own two kids shoot pink confetti filled cannons at these five people. We’ve had the opportunity to see each of their beautiful daughters in their first few days of life, and we get to do it again! That is an incredible blessing! And that’s just one of the million ways that Jesus shows us that He loves us in this portrait studio. The relationships that we have formed with people we otherwise would have never met mean more to us than any award ever will. BUT…the award is nice! Thank you so much for that, Florence Morning News readers!
