My heart is SO full for a dear Florence family this morning…a family that just a few hours ago met their son in Korea. They have been waiting for many many months, and now they’re together…and the photo of that sweet sleeping boy wrapped up in his momma’s arms in the back of a cab has me crying in my coffee. Families are such a BEAUTIFUL thing. Adoption is a beautiful thing. It’s going to be fun watching this family grow and change as they bring their son home from Korea…just like it’s been AMAZING to watch this family in this post! Miss Tessa!!! Is she not the cutest little thing?!? We had been praying for Nikki, Eric, Drake and Eli for many months as we watched their journey to their precious girl in China. We watched through photos as Nikki and Eric met their daughter for the first time, then as the family was reunited in the airport and the brothers finally met their sister. It was Beautiful. There are no other words. And finally, Collin and I got to meet Miss Tessa in Charleston for their first family portrait. Y’all…it was CHAOS. The kids didn’t sleep on the entire drive, there was a fiasco with the hotel, and we needed to do the session earlier than planned to hopefully prevent the meltdowns that were sure to happen (due to the afore-mentioned lack of naps!). It turned out great, though. Aren’t they all beautiful together? And then a few days later Miss Tessa came to the studio by herself for a session by herself. Girlfriend is a little priss-pot!! I love her to death! Collin and I had so much fun getting to know this sweet girl and hearing more about the details of her adoption. It was amazing to hear from Nikki all of the little details that God worked out that ended up being huge things in the process of getting their girl home. Miss Tessa, we are SO happy that you are here!
I don’T know if chaos is a strong enough word. Maybe traumatizing? I still can’t believe how Collin gets these amazing shots! Although, the out takes we’re hilarious. Thanks again for recording beautiful memories of my littles.
