Father’s Day 2007

Collin had an engagement session at the beach this Saturday evening, so we took the opportunity to have a mini family vacation. We had so much FUN!!!!!! I just love spending time with my three favorite people. Being there on Father’s Day made it even more special. God has really blessed me with the most wonderful, perfect man to be the father to my beautiful children. You know how you dream of what your husband will be like with your kids when you grow up? Well, I could not have dreamed up a better man for me, Makgill, and Clara Beth. I feel so blessed to have been given Collin as my husband! He is so loving and caring with them, but most of all, he is SO MUCH FUN!!!! These kids love playing with Daddy more than anything else, and I love watching them play together.

He is teaching Makgill so much about growing up to be a big boy. Everything from fast cars and tractors to being a man who loves God. They are upstairs “shaving” together right now. After Collin finished all of his breakfast this morning, Mak said “I’m so proud of you, Daddy!” Mak told my sister-in-law that he was getting Collin a racecar for Father’s Day. These are the types of things that they enjoy doing together. I love listening to the conversations that they have. I pray that these conversations will continue forever.

His relationship with Clara Beth is so similar yet so completely different. Of course they play, but Collin is so much more tender with her. I’m not even sure if he realizes that. Clara Beth is definitely his baby girl, and I have a feeling she always will be. He already is giving her lessons on how she should expect guys to treat her. She is going through a phase right now where Daddy has to be the one to put her to bed. After I put her down she screams until Daddy comes in to rock her or stand by her crib. This sometimes makes nap time pretty difficult, but I love that she loves Daddy so much! Thank you, Collin, for being the wonderful husband and father that you are.

Here is a slideshow of all of the pictures from the weekend. We spent time at the hotel’s pool on Saturday, then went out to eat. At supper, Mak entertained us with his funny faces, and we entertained ourselves by feeding Clara Beth pickles and lemons. Lovely Miss CB woke up at 5am, so we were on the beach by 7 with bleary eyes and Starbucks. Mak and Collin flew a kite, and both kids enjoyed the little “pool” in the sand. We then went to breakfast and spent the rest of the day at Broadway, shopping and riding rides. We ended the day by picking up my parents at the airport. They have been in California for the week. Mak is soooo excited to have them back!!! Enjoy the slideshow!

Beautiful pictures, as always. We miss you guys as well. Rebecca had mentioned that you were going to be able to go to the pool this afternoon, and I am SO SAD that the weather is not cooperating. But maybe Friday, or some day next week…our schedule is pretty much wide open except for M/W mornings. So, we’ve found that afternoons are the best time. They have YMCA campers that use the pool between 10-3 which makes for lots of craziness, especially when you’re dealing with little babies/toddlers that aren’t as comfortable being soaked and splashed, so we typically wait till after 3 to go and its stil busy but MUCH calmer. I learned that lesson the hard way 🙂

Anyway, we’d LOVE to meet you guys up there…and are also glad that everyone is feeling so much better in your household.

Let’s talk, and go swimming together, soon!ReplyCancel
