The ride from Disney World to the port was short and painless (but FULL of toll roads!) and before we knew it we were checking in and boarding the ship! Minnie was waiting to meet with Clara Beth before we boarded. 🙂
As soon as we were on the ship we found Amy and Sara and then found the food. I quickly realized that cruising with kids is slightly more complicated than cruising on your own. See, the room wasn’t ready yet, so we still had our bags. Collin took the bags to go find a table for all of us and I told him to just leave the kids with me and I would get our food. Hmmmm…how exactly was I going to do that? I mean, Mak is pretty self-sufficient, but I still don’t trust him to carry a tray full of food by himself across a crowded ship. And, CB?? Well, let’s just say the poor kid has enough trouble walking straight on a good day on solid ground. She’s a bit clumsy. Love her. But she most definitely could NOT have any part in fixing her plate or carrying anything ANYWHERE. Heck, I probably should have been carrying her! I decided to just fix the kids trays and hope that I could get us and all of their food to a table without major incident. Then I would send Collin for food and when he got back I would go. Whew! Eating became a confusing workout!! All I have to say is THANK GOODNESS Amy and Sara were with us! They graciously watched the kids while Collin and I went back for food and Sara even took Mak to get dessert!
Miss CB’s favorite part of the cruise…CHOCOLATE!!!
Mak’s favorite part of the cruise…THE GIRLS!!!
Mak and his great big giant huge Mickey. I love that my 6 year old still loves Mickey. 🙂
And CB and her ballerina baby, Sarah Beth! Named affectionately for a little girl in her ballet class!
After the fun lifeboat drill and loading all of our stuff into the cabin we went out to explore the ship.
And then it was time for the Sail Away Party! Once again, the girls saved us. They had a prime location and invited Mak and CB to join them so they had a great view of the festivities. Thank you, Amy and Sara!!!
There they are on the BIG screen!
See them?
LOVE this man!!
Back inside to get ready for supper…
Mickey and Minnie!!! Please excuse the awful flash pictures! Characters were EVERYWHERE on the boat. It was so much FUN!!!
My boy acting CRAZY at dinner…
Mickey ice cream bars…the kids’ dessert of choice at every meal. 🙂
Happy Birthday to Amy and Sara!
She’s the nastiest eater alive. I LOVE her!!!
It was Family Night at the kids club so we went to check it out. Mak and CB LOVED it. There was a fun climbing/slide thingy, dress up clothes (this made me CRINGE thinking about germs and stuff!), video games, and fun group activities. Mak and CB participated in this fun matching/memory game. Mak was the first kid chosen to go up there!
And then it was Clara Beth’s turn!! I was SOOO Super Excited that she participated!! In case you haven’t heard, CB is quite possibly the shyest child alive. Standing in front of a large group of her peers is simply not her idea of a good time. She is her Momma’s child. But…she DID it!!!! We were so proud of her!
My son…in a germ infested Buzz costume 2 sizes too small. And loving every minute of it!
Unfortunately, that was their first and last visit to the kids club. Sickness would come tomorrow, thus banning us from all kid activities. So Sad. 🙁
Day One was a success. The kids were in total awe of the massive ship and were having the time of their lives. Collin and I were loving it and loving watching them. The perfect START to the trip…
I’m loving the Disney blogs! I’m becoming obsessed with planning a trip in September. It looks like you had a great time so far. I hate the kiddos got sick. Can’t wait to hear the rest!
y’all had friends on the boat…that didn’t have kids…how convienient 😉 i hate they got sick on the cruise, that darn buzz lightyear costume!
