Okay, I’ll admit it. I am a complete NERD when it comes to planning my Disney trips. I LOVE the planning, and bore Collin to tears trying to make him get involved in where we stay, where we eat, what parks we do on particular days, making dining reservations, changing dining reservations…I could go on and on. Not that he doesn’t enjoy the trips. He really does. He is just not as into the planning. But I have to give him credit. He listens to me a lot longer than I can listen to him go on about cars, cameras, etc… Anyway, we are headed back to Disney later on this year, and I think I have everything set. The resort is booked, the dining reservations have been made (and changed, and in some cases changed back again). Now we just have to wait. So I decided that Makgill is old enough to understand a “countdown” chart. We took a huge poster board and colored our favorite things about Disney all over it. His favorites are Dumbo, Magic Carpets, Teacups, Indy Speedway, and Barnstormer. (By the way- many people think we are CRAZY to take our kids to Disney when they are so young because they will not remember it. My baby boy has been twice and remembers sooo much of it. He brings things up all the time that Collin and I have even forgotten! Disney is for ALL AGES, as long as you have the right attitude about it!) We then glued 100 Mickey Mouse Head paint chips from Home Depot on top of our drawings. We have been crossing off a Mickey head each night. I think it’s really helping him put into perspective that it really is a looong time before we leave. We had a lot of fun making it, and it’s educational, am I right?!? Colors, numbers, counting, gluing, subtracting…
And this is just a random picture of Baby Girl chasing her Daddy. He makes life so much FUN!!!
Cute IDEA!!! I bet Mak loves crossing each Mickey ear off!!! Love CB’s little 1 shirt=)
You are one SMART Mama! Love the countdown idea! I need a Disney “chat” with you, to make sure we are planning correctly. (maybe I shouldn’t tell you I haven’t yet booked a resort and we leave in one month!)
What a cute idea Aron! I love it!!!! I know that it is fun for Mak too. Don’t be surprised if you have three stowaways. And I am sooo glad you are such a good planner. That will make the trip so much more organized and less chaotic. What a super mom!!! Love ya!
