CB’s Candy House and Jesse Tree Day 8, 9, and 10

Last year’s Christmas season was a little tough for us as a family. We were SUPER busy at the studio and both Collin and I felt like we missed out on so many fun things because we were working constantly. This year we were determined that things would be different. That’s why we scheduled our Christmas sessions about a week and a half earlier than we ever have before AND we set aside an entire week instead of just 2 or 3 days. And…dare I say it…I think it worked!!! Things are actually looking like a normal studio week from now until Christmas and we have BIG plans to actually ENJOY this season and our children. Novel idea, huh? 😉 Now if the rain would just go away so we can do all of those things we have planned…

On Friday I joined Clara Beth at school to make a Candy House. This has always been my favorite school activity with Mak and I was so excited to do it with CB. And she got to wear her Christmas pajamas. She loved it!

Clara Beth and Tallon are in the same class. I LOVE that!!! They have the cutest little relationship and Rebecca and I always say that they act more like brother and sister than cousins. They can be each others best playmate or they can fight like cats and dogs. But they do love each other SO much. He still calls her “Cwarbet”, one word, and it’s SO Stinkin’ CUTE.

I think it’s hilarious that she kept choosing Easter sprinkles to decorate her house. Why? Well, they’re PINK, of course!

Tal walked by all cool and swiftly swiped one of her Hershey kisses. Gotta love him!

And now back to the Jesse Tree. Day 8 was Jacob and the scripture was Genesis 28:10-22. We learned about Jacob thinking he had run away from God but that God was always with him. Then we discussed ways that we know that God is always with us.

Day 9 was Joseph and the scripture was Genesis 37:1-36 and 50:15-21. We learned about being kind and the kids named people they could be kind to.

Ok, this has nothing to do with the Jesse Tree but I thought I’d throw it in here. We FINALLY got the tree topper for the photo tree this weekend. It’s been killing me that I haven’t gotten one yet. In fact, for the images that went in She Magazine I made Collin crop them so the top of the tree wouldn’t be seen. I hate an unfinished tree! So, I put the silver star up there and this is what it looked like. Pretty, right? Don’t worry, Collin fixed it. 🙂

Day 10, Moses. Scripture was Deuteronomy 5:1-22 and we learned about the 10 Commandments. We talked about rules we have in our family that help us live together and be happy. And I just realized that the Bible was upside down in this next picture.

I did the reading for this one because Collin, Mak and CB were eating supper.

So…we fed the kids cereal for supper. Please tell me I’m not the only one that does this! I always feel so guilty when we feed them cereal but it’s SOO Easy.

you’re not the only one…Owen has cereal for supper sometimes too. Especially on days like the day of our session, when he had spaghetti for lunch and again in after school care!ReplyCancel

Cereal is a main staple around our house—as well as Pop-Tarts 😉 Nicholas could seriously eat Pop-Tarts for every meal—but I dont let him!ReplyCancel
