Boys Will Be Boys…

I’m going to go ahead and apologize for how LONG overdue this Limited Edition is. I know, I know. I promised it not long after we did Girly Girls…WAY back in June. It was just surprisingly difficult for us to come up with something that we love for boys the way we LOVED Girly Girls. It’s unfair, really. Girls are just easy. I could come up with 13 Limited Editions for girls without even thinking about it. I wanted to really LOVE what we did with boys. We tossed ideas around and came up with things that would work, but nothing that was just IT, ya know? And then Collin did Grant’s 3 year session. At the end they headed to the backyard and let Grant just run around, exploring and being a boy. Not long after we did an 8ish month session for Thomas. And, again, after it was over we headed outside and let him hang out in the leaves for a bit. Collin and I were going through the images and immediately it clicked…THAT’S IT!!! What does every little boy want from the time he is able to have an opinion about anything? Why, to be outside, of course! I’ve said it before…Makgill would live outside if we would let him. He explores in the bushes, scales the wooden fence, climbs trees and in general just terrifies me with his wild adventures. In a nutshell, that is this Limited Edition. It’s simple, but it’s perfect. It’s BOY. So far Collin has photographed two 3 year olds, and 8 month old and an 8 year old. All very different sessions, unique to each boy…but all BOY. So, if you have a little man that loves to explore the outdoors bring him to us on October 17th! We will let him tromp through our leaves, conquer our wild, un-tamable forest 😉 and just plain be a boy. And we will give you great portraits of him doing just that! This will not be the session for that great smocked outfit or cute little John-John. You know I love those, but they need to stay in the closet for this session. Think casual, but cool. Jeans. Hats. Yes, we will be happy to design Christmas Cards from these sessions. There will be many different portrait options for you, and we will explore those options here on the blog in the weeks leading up to the sessions.
