Benton

Photographing High School Seniors is another one of our favorite things to do. We love finding out what they love to do and focusing on those interests, really making the session personal to them. Benton is a surfer and it was the perfect theme for his Senior session. Collin met up with Benton and his mom, Evita, BEFORE the crack of dawn one morning at the beach. I just love this session so much! Collin has been photographing Benton since he was a little boy and we have always LOVED working with this family. Benton and his sister, Blakely, are truly two of the wonderful people to be around. They are Crazy smart, have amazing personalities and are GORGEOUS!!! Both of them! Every time Evita comes to the studio I try to soak in every word that comes out of her mouth and hang on to it for future reference when it comes to raising my own kids, because clearly she and Gerald know what they are doing when it comes to this parenting stuff! One night about two years ago Collin and I were out on a date and we ran into Evita and Benton. They, too were out on a date. On a Friday night. I LOVE that. This kid, a Junior in High School at the time, was spending his Friday evening with his Mom. And they were both clearly enjoying it. As soon as we walked away from them I looked at Collin and said “That’s what I want my relationship with Makgill to be like when we are at that life stage.” And Blakely is the same way! This family is one of those that I just feel honored to have met so early on in our studio career. We have watched Blakely and Benton grow from kids to young adults and I have taken “parenting” notes every step of the way. Benton is at Duke now and from what I hear is loving it. Can’t wait to see you again soon, Benton!

And just because she is SO GORGEOUS and equally as fun as her brother, here are some from Blakley’s Senior session, too. Yes, it’s a couple of years old, but we didn’t blog back then so this session never made it to the blog. It’s one of my favorites ever! We included some family portraits in this session. This is such a perfect “life stage” to do a family portrait. This session was done at the family’s farm…Perfect setting!!!
