At the beach with the Otts

We headed down to Huntington last Thursday to photograph one of our absolute FAVORITE families. Actually, Collin was supossed to do the session on Tuesday at Francis Marion but it got rained out. The Otts were headed to the beach for the rest of the week, so Collin was able to clear some time on Thursday for us to head down and do the session there. Let me give you a little bit of background about this awesome family. They used to live in Marion where Robby was the youth pastor at a church. They have been coming to the studio since their oldest, Bryson, was about 18 months old. Since then they have had two more kids; Raelyn (now 4) and Jordan (1). Collin and I clicked with this family right from the beginning. They are just so sweet and so much fun. April and I were pregnant with Jordan and Clara Beth at the same time. They are almost exactly 1 month apart. April has to be one of the best moms I have ever met. I have learned so much from her! Well, when we were expecting Clara Beth and Jordan the Otts gave us some devastating news. They would be moving away!!!!! The reason for moving was because Robby was being called to go back to seminary, and they would be assisting with a church plant…..Oh…..I guess I can’t be so upset if it’s the Lord’s will that they are leaving. I’m not going to lie, though. I was still disappointed. They stayed in Marion until after Jordan was born, and have come back for several visits. Each time they manage to fit in a session of Jordan, so we have seen them, but I miss them like crazy!

Anyway, back to the session. The weather wasn’t much better on Thursday, but it was our only shot at the session because they would be heading back to Maryland. And it never actually rained….the sky was just really dark and the beach was ugly. We were able to do it anyway, though, and I love what Collin got. I also walked around with my camera and took some pics of all of the kids playing together. They have so much fun!

My Baby Boy may have his first “real”crush. While Raelyn was having her portrait taken he said “Mommy, you know who’s cute? Raelyn.” with the cutest little shy smile.

Is that not the sweetest thing? This was completely un-prompted. Raelyn just walked up and held her big brother’s hand. I hope that someday my babies have this kind of relationship!

It’s amazing what little boys can entertain themselves with. Give Mak a pile of sticks and he’s happy for hours.

Those were some of my favorites, but there are many more. We had so much fun with y’all last Thursday. Don’t let it be too long before you come back south again! Here’s a slideshow from the session. Enjoy!

Robby and I have spent the past hour and a half pouring over these pictures. Collin, you always seem to capture my babies personalities. Thanks so much for another great session and the added bonus of spending time with your sweet family. I also enjoyed the pictures that you took, Aron. I only wish there was one of Mak “pruning” the palmetto tree (just thinking about it makes me smile). The message you wrote about our family was so sweet. We cherish our friendship with ya’ll and miss you terribly!ReplyCancel
