Our last full day! We headed back to the 9\/11 Memorial, but first stopped at the cutest little French bakery.<\/p>\n

She decided to sample a taste of my coffee. She was not a fan.<\/p>\n

We spent most of the day at the September 11th Memorial Museum. It was incredible and awful and beautiful and so many other things. Before we went here I had no idea just how little Makgill and Clara Beth knew about that day. Living through it made it something that we remember nearly every detail of, but they’ve only heard about it. And although I thought I had done an adequate job of teaching them about it, I realize now that I had not. I’m so glad we spent time here!<\/p>\n

After it was all over and we had seen the museum, we were once again hungry. It’s a common theme in this trip.<\/p>\n

Earlier that day a guy had helped us on the subway by telling us which exit to take in order to get to the memorial quickest, and then told us that he owns a restaurant and to feel free to head there for lunch later. So that’s where we went! Really great food and super nice service! And I have to mention, New Yorkers were the BEST! They went out of their way to be helpful or offer advice to us numerous times! I think it was pretty clear that we weren’t from ’round these parts.<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

By this point in the day we had eaten a ton and were feeling the need to burn some of those calories off, so we decided now would be a good time to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge.<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

We crossed the bridge with about three thousand other people and then headed over into Dumbo. I loved this area!! I think if we ever go back I’ll see about staying here just to experience a different part of new York. It was a great little area!<\/p>\n

First stop, coffee.<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

After coffee and chess we headed down to the park between the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges.<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

I was laughing at him because he had just taken about thirty pictures of Collin and me with my phone. His face here makes me smile.<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

This was our final night in the city and Clara Beth wanted to see Times Square one more time, so that’s where we went.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Honestly, I was a little nervous about what we would witness there on a Friday night. So far we had seen some pretty outrageous sights, and I really was kind of over it and not wanting to see the nastiness that Times Square sometimes offers. We walked up into the streets out of the subway and were greeted with hundreds of people singing praises to Jesus, praying, and reading scriptures at a concert that was being put on by a local Christian radio station! I. WAS. FLOORED. It was beautiful. Shouting “Jesus Christ is LORD!!” with hundreds of other people is not something I ever thought I’d be doing in New York!<\/p>\n

We stayed there for awhile and then headed off to find our last New York snacks. A giant pretzel for CB and a smoothie for Mak.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

That pretzel she’s eating was crazy HOT, and seriously about melted her fingers off!<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

One last time seeing the city all lit up from our subway station! So pretty…but I was missing SC by this point!<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

And, finally, one last picture of the six of us. New York was wonderful!! I definitely want to go back one day, and I’m so thankful that Clara Beth wanted to do this!<\/p>\n
