I have about a thousand photos of our family that are sitting neatly in folders on my computer waiting to be blogged. 2016 has been pretty great up to this point and we’ve done some fun things. And I just KNEW I would blog it all because MEMORIES, yet there they sit, never making it to a post. But Collin turned forty last week and we celebrated by doing his favorite thing in the world, camping, and I am determined to blog it. Even though there aren’t a ton of photos. And we didn’t really do anything out of the ordinary. Still, though, it was a perfect weekend and one that I want to remember.<\/p>\n

Collin and I are obsessed with the Tiny House movement. Monday night HGTV is our favorite. We lead a wild and exciting life, I tell ya. But seriously, I love seeing how people make small spaces work. One thing, though. Have you seen what people are paying for these things?!? $40,000 for less than 200 square feet? Um, no. I don’t get it. I could absolutely live in our little old Airstream. And I assure you that the amount of money we have in this thing is nowhere close to forty grand!<\/p>\n

The plan was to spend the entire day bike riding on Friday. James Island is Mak’s favorite because of the bike trails, and I completely understand why. There just aren’t a ton of places where you can bike ride beside the beautiful marshes of South Carolina’s low country. My boy has good taste. BUT…we woke to the sound of rain on our tin roof. Perfect for rolling over and grabbing a few extra hours of sleep, horrible for bike riding.<\/p>\n

We hung out in the camper instead and played a few rounds of Shanghai and did some reading. It’s times like this that I truly appreciate having older children. I can’t imagine entertaining a toddler in this space! Oh, and I think this may be the first time that Mak has ever spontaneously crawled into bed during daylight hours to read a book. Never thought I’d see it happen.<\/p>\n

The rain did finally stop and we were able to do the bike trails and grill out for supper.<\/p>\n

Saturday was absolutely gorgeous and we spent the morning in Kiawah at my aunt and uncle’s house, and then headed downtown for a couple of sessions that afternoon.<\/p>\n

And then it was Sunday, the saddest day…leaving day. We had coffee outside until the last possible moment before we had to pack up.<\/p>\n

None of us were ready to be back in Florence so when Collin suggested that we head back downtown instead we were all on board. But that meant pulling a camper through downtown Charleston. Y’all, I can barely drive just a car through downtown Charleston. I basically sat in the passenger seat with my eyes closed praying until we were parked.<\/p>\n

It really was the perfect way to celebrate my favorite person in the world turning forty! Happy Birthday, Collin! We love you SO Much!!!<\/p>\n
