But I promise it’s for a very good reason. We’re at Disney. Great Day, we just love this place. This time Collin and I had a photography class and it just seemed like a good time for a family vacation. And when my parents agreed to come along and babysit while we attended said photography class…well…we just decided it would be perfect. Has it been perfect? Absolutely not. The kids don’t sleep well here which leads to tantrums and whining. I Loathe whining. Clara Beth fell out in the middle of the street at Hollywood Studios today because she wanted the red stroller, not the black one. Mak has repeatedly endangered his life this week by making stupid decisions. Tonight Collin had to pop Clara Beth on the leg for sassiness before bed and then she went on screaming about it for an hour and then I snapped at Collin for popping her because I really just wanted her to go to sleep, not listen to more whining. Sigh. I was wrong. But that’s the real stuff of this trip. :). And every Disney trip.
But then there’s the other stuff. The Really great stuff. Like Mak’s face on Test Track. And the way Clara Beth literally dances her way through the parks, never walking, just because she’s so happy to be here. The way they happily play together for hours in the hotel room with only the folding luggage stand thingy for a toy because Mommy forgot to pack anything else to play with. And the late night talks that Collin and I have on the balcony after the kids go to sleep…with no work or anything else to distract us. And this trip for the first time ever Collin and I had a for real DATE at the Magic Kingdom. I highly recommend that, by the way. I love love love these three people so much. And I love when we have day after day of being together like this. This week has been a lot of perfect with a little bit of the junky stuff of everyday life thrown in there, too. I wouldn’t change one single second of it. There will be many posts of sessions and probably some Disney pics headed your way as soon as we return…just wanted to check in and let you know that I haven’t abandoned the poor blog. Hope y’all have had a great week, too!
I, of course, had to laugh OUT LOUD at the “Mak has endangered his life….” and the “I snapped….because I just wanted her to go to sleep”…..I SO TOTALLY get it! It’s just comic relief when it happens and You are not in that moment 🙂 I still am jealous that I am not there! Have fun!
