This is one of those posts that’s a Happy/Sad one for me to write. Back to School. Dum, Dum, Dummmm…it’s coming. I know, because my inbox is flooded with clothing companies advertising deals on back to school clothes and backpacks. And when I walk into the big box stores I’m overwhelmed with the scents of crayons, erasers, plastic binders, and notebook paper. I kind of like that smell, actually. But I digress. Love it or hate it, back to school is coming. And with it comes my desire to update the photos in our school room/playroom. Maybe you have that desire too? Or even if you don’t have a schoolroom, maybe you have the desire to have your kid photographed a little differently than the school photographers tend to do it. You know, not in front of a fake woods scene or waterfall. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. What I’m trying to say is that we’re bringing back our “Too Cool for School” Limited Edition!! WOOOO-HOOOO!!! These are FUN, y’all! And they are going to be a little bit different this year. Sessions will be $50 and will include a digital file of your favorite image {additional images will be available to purchase}. A portion of the proceeds will be going to benefit one of our FAVORITE organizations in town, Camp Rae! Here is what the organization is all about {from their Facebook page}: Camp RAE was founded by Pee Dee residents who recognized a need for a summer program to provide therapy and educational interaction for non-mobile special needs children to replace the programs provided for them during the school months. Since no such programs of this type existed in the entire Pee Dee region,a group was formed in the Spring of 2009 to create Camp RAE.
For the past few weeks I’ve been seeing photos pop up in my newsfeed of kids having fun at Camp Rae and I can’t even explain how they touch me. These people LOVE these children and it is so evident in everything that they do! And the kids are having an absolute ball at Camp Rae! If you haven’t liked them on Facebook yet, I strongly encourage you to!
So, here are the details. The Too Cool for School sessions will take place on August 6th from 3:00-6:00 by appointment only. They will be fast paced, FUN sessions.
