South Carolina Beach Photographer: Nikki, Drake, Tessa, and Eli!

Y’all. Everywhere I look, every time I turn around people are shoving this whole “Back to School” thing in my face. I can’t walk through the doors of Target without being assaulted with signs that tell me that my summer is rapidly coming to a close. And each time I see these offensive tactics I shout in my head the whole “Why, God, WHYYYY?” thing like Joey did on Friends when they all started turning thirty. You know what I’m talking about, right? I’m just not ready to see this summer end. The kids and I started our homeschool year about three weeks ago. That doesn’t get me, but I tell you what, when all of the other little Florence school kids get started it really gets to me. That’s how I know that summer is officially over. Perhaps we should petition to make the summer break a few weeks longer. Really, what’s wrong with starting after Labor Day? But on to the purpose of this post, three of my favorite little stinkers at the beach! The beach is my favorite thing about summer and these three cuties are some of my favorite things about the studio, so this session just makes me all sorts of happy. But you know what meant the most to me at this session? The fact that they’re getting older and I had actual conversations with them. Real conversations, not just baby talk or things you say to make a toddler laugh. I strolled across the dunes with Tessa as she told me about her tummy mommy in China and how she came to America to her forever mommy. And then I got to tell her about how vividly I remember that time and how I prayed for her then and how I cried when I saw the first pictures of her with her forever mommy on Facebook. She looked at me with those pretty eyes and said “Really?!” and then scampered off and tackled her brother in the sand. Y’all, that is such a gift. I am forever amazed at the people that God has brought into our lives through this studio. Far and away, beyond any other blessing that this business has given us, these relationships are the biggest. I’m just so thankful for them! Nikki, thank you for sharing your stinkers with us!
