Last night before going to bed I went to check on both kids. I love watching them sleep- it’s so peaceful. Anyway, I was thinking to myself… “it’s really nice that they are both such good sleepers now. They both sleep through the night and we are rarely up with them.” It’s amazing how important sleep becomes after you have children. I even thought “I’m not even going to mention these thoughts to Collin, because if I speak them out loud then someone will surely wake up tonight”. Well, it turns out I don’t even have to voice my thoughts to cause an upset in the nightly routine. Makgill was up 3 times throughout the night wanting to go potty (believe me, that’s fine. Nothing worse than changing sheets at 4am), wanting to sleep in our bed, and wanting me to sleep in his bed. I found myself in his twin bed for about 45 minutes somewhere around 3am. This wouldn’t be so bad if the boy didn’t sleep sideways. Then, of course, sweet girl is singing from her crib at 5. Collin tried to go in and get her back down, but no dice. We were up for the day at, what I consider, the middle of the night. The little rascals are currently enjoying what I hope to be a long afternoon nap!
