Santa’s Coming to the Claussen House!!

Whew! Sorry, Y’all! I really hoped to have this post up yesterday, but things got CRAZY here and I ran out of time. I feel like the season is already slipping away faster than I can keep up, and it’s not even December yet. Quite frankly, I find that ridiculous and I’m pretty sure that my life was never intended to be this busy. I was reading this morning about Mary and Martha. Luke 10:40 kind of hit me like a ton of bricks…”But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made…”. Hmmmm…Already I’ve fallen into the trap of busying myself preparing for the season and not spending more time at My Lord’s feet, listening to what He is trying to tell me. This is such a precious time of year. I don’t want to miss out on HIM because I am too focused on making things “pretty” for His birthday. Does that even make sense? I know I’m rambling and my thoughts are jumbled. Anyway, the focus for me today is to try to be a little more like Mary and a little less like Martha.

But back to the point of this post! Y’all have been asking and, yes, Santa is coming back to The Clausen House this year! We are SO Excited! He will be there on December 13th from 2:00-5:00. These will be VERY fast sessions. We are setting up blocks of three sessions every 15 minutes. Sessions will be $35 and will include a digital file (printable to size 5×7) of your favorite image from your session. Also, all images from your session will be posted on Facebook (if you are okay with that!). Here’s the best part, though. Proceeds from these Santa sessions are going to World Vision!! Have you heard of this ministry? They sent us a catalog in the mail last year and I promise you it was the most read Christmas catalog of the season! It is full of amazing ways to give back. There are gifts at every price point. For instance, you could give the gift of two chickens (who would then provide umpteen eggs that would nourish a hungry family) for $25, a pair of goats (that would provide milk) for $75, or even a deep water well that would provide clean water for an entire village for $13, 700!! You can give gifts of medicine, Bibles, clothing…the options are endless! Last year through your help with the Santa sessions we were able to provide our goal of 28 FARM ANIMALS!! As a direct result of a bunch of kids in little ol’ Florence, South Carolina, 2 cows, 2 sheep, 2 pigs, 2 goats, and 20 chickens were provided to help save ten families from hunger. That was such a God thing. There’s just no way it could have been done without him. I’m SUPER Excited to see what he provides this year!! I encourage all of you to go to the World Vision website to check out the ways that you can give back (www.worldvisiongifts.org).

(These photos are from last year’s catalog, but you can find the same things and more this year!)

So, how do you make an appointment? Email or message us on Facebook. You can email Collin at collin@cmsmithportraits.com or message the studio page on Facebook. Also, we want to say a HUGE Thank You to Brandon and Jencey for partnering with us and providing a GORGEOUS location for these sessions! Thanks, Y’all, and we are so looking forward to this event!
