I’m desperately trying to get caught up on all of our family blog posts from 2016. We have some pretty fun things coming up and I want to blog those too, but I can’t until I get 2016 recorded. So although they will be weirdly out of order, hopefully I will have a whole bunch of posts from our 2016 family adventures coming soon. This one is one of my favorites. The annual cousin gingerbread contest. They’ve been competing since 2011 and I look forward to seeing their creations every year. The boy cousins took it this year, no contest. Their design was well planned and thought out, and they worked together well. The girls? Well, chaos kind of ruled for them in 2016. There was a candy overload in their design, but they had a great time putting it all together!
Reeves came in to offer up some advice. They ignored him.
That sweet Tate’s face! Love that boy!
And this is basically the definition of Tess. Girlfriend has spirit!
Their great grandmother came to watch them this year!
LOVE these three guys!
And these girls!! So very thankful that they have one another.
And here are how the houses ended up:
Boy House
Girl House
We did the contest at my parents’ house this year instead of mine because my house had been plagued with the stomach bug. Right after the contest was over we jumped on into our Cannon Christmas. Their excitement makes me so happy!
If you ever wondered what tonsils look like…=). Think she was excited?
Makgill and Clara Beth made these string art crosses on reclaimed wood for each family this year. I love how they turned out!
And CB made coordinating library bags for each girl cousin. Yes, they have a library club. My dad is their leader. It’s the cutest, nerdiest thing ever and I love it so much.
And then maybe my favorite memory of the night. There’s a video too, that I should really try to add here. Tate and Mak were playing that Pie Face game and Mak lost. Tate’s reaction was the best ever!!
So thankful for every single one of these cousins! I love how much they love one another!
