You know what one of the unexpected blessings of owning a portrait studio is? You can throw a pretty cute girly birthday party together with little to no effort and time, just by running through the props in your garage. A big party for Clara Beth was not on our radar this year. I used to go all out for birthday parties. You know, back when the kids were too young to really even care. Now I’m kind of over it, but CB especially still likes a little celebration. I decided on Thursday to throw a party together for her on Saturday morning. That’s how ridiculously easy this party was. We invited her three closest buddies and her three girl cousins, decided on a breakfast party, and that was it. A waffle bar. YUM. When she asked her daddy if we could use Buck and the Airstream as the main party decorations she pretty much made his day.
Collin made a table for her from pallets that we had in the garage leftover from a wedding show. We threw Collin’s mom’s vintage lace tablecloths over the top and made my great grandmother’s dough bowl the centerpiece. Then my girl filled it with flowers to make it more girly. It ended up being so cute and I kind of want to keep it set up as our permanent outdoor eating spot!
The only entertainment was the American Girl dolls that the girls brought along. Clara Beth doesn’t really play with her AG doll when she’s by herself, but she loves playing with them with friends. They set up a little campground, traded doll clothes, and had a blast.
Waffles!!
We had strawberries, bananas, chocolate chips, powdered sugar, raspberry jam, cherries, whipped cream, hot fudge, caramel, syrup, and sprinkles. Oh, and watermelon and ice cream on the side. It was a sugar overload.
I love this kid! Here she’s telling me that she’s almost as tall as I am.
Clara Beth’s creation:
Tho only boys who attended were the big brothers of the little sisters.
My dad said this was his favorite birthday party ever. The man loves his breakfast food!
I still can’t believe she’s nine!
Love these cuties!
And that was it! Done by 11:00. I think breakfast parties may be my new thing. 😉
