Luke 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ The Lord.
Merry Christmas, Everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful day, filled with family and friends, celebrating the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ!
Collin and I expected to be pulled from our bed bright and early to run downstairs and check things out. I was awake at 6:10, and waited on Makgill to come get us. He FINALLY came in our room at 7:10, but he WENT BACK TO SLEEP! I was going CRAZY! At 7:30, I couldn’t stand it anymore, so I asked him if he thought someone came to our house last night. “Who?” he asked!!! Then it clicked with him. “SANTA?!?! Let’s go see!!!” First we had to wake Clara Beth, and finally made it downstairs to check things out.
The loot…minus the BIG ONE!
They were both thrilled with everything!
We had fun playing until my parents made it over to help with the kids’ big present. Then we found a note from Santa saying that Mickey Mouse wanted to send them a surprise as well. It told the kids to go to the sunroom, and say Mickey’s Magic words “Meeska, Mooska, Mickey Mouse!” Mak said the words, with a little help from Mom and Dad, and up pops the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse in OUR backyard!!! They couldn’t get outside fast enough!
Saying the magic words…
Watching it inflate…
WHY are we still in here??? Did you SEE what’s outside???
They were over-the-top EXCITED! Not many pictures, we were just enjoying watching them play.
It was FREEZING after awhile, so we headed back in. But they kept going back to the sunroom to look outside and make sure it was still there!
More fun playing with the inside toys
Eating Santa’s leftover cookies
Andrew and Erin came over to have Birthday cake for Jesus. Mak, of course had to show them his favorite toy.
We have been doing a birthday coffee cake for Jesus for a few years now (sorry, no pics). Mak loves lighting the candles and singing to Jesus. And hopefully it helps him remember what the day is really about!
Then it was time to get dressed for the day and head to Na-Na’s (my grandmother) for a Chritmas tradition, brunch.
He was still talking about the Bounce House!
Ride a Little Horsey with Andrew and Erin
And then Erin got the dreaded call. She’s an OR nurse, and was on call today, and she had to leave brunch to go in to work. Thankfully, she didn’t have to stay all day. Also, you won’t see any pics of my Mom from today, although she was there. Her eye was horribly swollen, and she ended up having to leave brunch to go to the ER! Turns out it’s scratched, and they sent her home with pain medicine. Kind of a bummer for both of them!
See the spots all over CB’s dress? It’s blood! Poor thing busted her lip when she fell on a chair and it bled forever. She’s fine now, but has a swollen lip. 🙁
Na-Na gave her a Christmas purse. She loved it!
The rest of the day was lazy and relaxing. Lots of playing and enjoying our new toys. Very few pictures, but tons of great memories!
Merry Christmas!!!
It was a great day…minus my trip to the ER. I hope you guys have a great time with Maw Maw and Pa Pa. I can’t wait for them to hear CB’s southern accent. It should be a hoot for them. Sorry Byron and Mary…we just can’t help it down here.
