WOW!!! I am SO SOrry that I let the blog get this far behind! We have been doing it, I just haven’t been blogging it. So tonight I will catch up, but the explanations will more than likely be brief. 🙂
Day 11, Rahab. Scripture: Joshua 2:1-21 Tonight we learned the story of Rahab and discussed times when God has given us the courage to help someone. Or at least that’s what we were supposed to discuss. Our kids DID. NOT. LISTEN. So, when it was over we told them whoever could tell us just one thing about the story would be allowed to hang the ornament. Neither one could tell us anything, so Collin hung the ornament. Oh, the dramatic crying that ensued!! BUT, they have paid much better attention ever since that night. Mission accomplished. Little Stinkers. 🙂
Day 12, Ruth. Scripture: Ruth 1:15- 2:3 I just LOVE this book of the Bible!! Tonight we discussed the story of Ruth, Naomi, and Boaz and times when we have felt really sad as well as what can make us happy. We thanked God for being with us ALWAYS, even when we are sad.
See the enthusiasm here? Raising her hand?? Yep, she learned her lesson from the night before! 😉
Sweet little ballerina
Day 13, Samuel. Scripture: 1 Samuel 16:1-13 We discussed that God has a plan for us and how we can honor God in our lives. We prayed for God to guide us to serve Him.
Day 14, David. Scripture: 2 Samuel 5:1-5 We discussed how David had been a shepherd and then became a king. We talked about who God is trusting us to take care of and asked God to watch over us and protect us. This ornament has been the most anticipated one by Mak and CB BY FAR!!! Remember in a past post when I mentioned the cinnamon ornament? Well, this is it! And it does make the kitchen smell nice!
*Sorry! Next to NO pics from Days 15 and 16!!*
Day 15, Isaiah Scripture: Isaiah 9:2-7 We discussed prophets and how they would bring God’s message to the people of Israel. We talked about how the prophets reminded the people that God had promised a Savior. We thanked God for the promises He has made to us.
Day 16, Elijah Scripture: 1 Kings 18: 17-24, 36-39…one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE stories from the Bible!! I just LOVE it!! We talked about how the people of Israel had forgotten to worship God and were worshiping Baal instead. We learned about the miracle that God performed to show the people that HE is REAL. We discussed things we can do to praise God and thanked Him for all He has done for us.
Day 17, Peace Scripture: Isaiah 11: 6-9 We talked about a time when God will restore peace to the world. We discussed ways that we can be peacemakers and asked God to help us find ways to have peace in our world.
