itty-bitty Heath

If I had to be totally honest with all of you, I would have to admit that newborn sessions are my absolute FAVORITE thing that we do at the studio. Not that I don’t ADORE a smiling/drooling 6 month old, a babbling 9 month old, a one year old diving into a cake or a sassy 3 year old. Really, I love them all. But that newborn? Oh my Gracious, I will NEVER get over the way it feels to hold a newborn. You women know what I mean, right? The way they arch their back and scrunch up their legs when you lift them out of their carseat…that unbelievably SWEET smell of their breath…the back wrinkles, Oh I LOVE the back wrinkles! Every bit of a newborn is so perfectly precious! And it goes away so fast. That’s why these sessions are so special. It is literally impossible to get certain “newborn” looks with a baby even at 3 weeks old. Our favorite time to photograph a newborn is certainly within those first 2 weeks, but the earlier the better. Lately for most of our newborns we have been told that the studio is the baby’s very first outing! What an honor! If you want a session done of your brand new baby it is so important that you call us EARLY. We will do everything we can to get your baby in as soon as possible, but if you plan ahead it will make things much easier. And if you have already waited too late and your baby is beyond that 3 week window of time, Don’t Worry! There are still plenty of sweet things we can do!

Heath was just a dream to work with. He definitely did that scrunchy-baby thing that I love. And his fuzzy little head was perfect! Heath, I loved loving on you, Baby Boy! Can’t wait to see you again soon!
