Y’all, it’s SUMMERTIME!!! You can literally hear the shouts of joy from every school-aged kid in the area and the collective sigh of relief from every parent and teacher that WE MADE IT. We did it. And now three long, glorious months of slow paced mornings, late, lazy evenings, and lively road trips stretch blissfully before us. Last week while walking the dogs I spotted my first lightening bugs of the season, circling under the old oaks that were dripping with spanish moss in my neighbor’s yard, and my heart did a little leap for joy because the BEST days of the year are finally hear. I know that many credit Christmas as being the “Most Wonderful Time of the Year.” Not me. Give me a sizzling hot day at the beach, a tall glass of sweet iced tea, and an 8:00 sunset and I’m a happy girl.
