People ask us all the time what our favorite thing to photograph is. That’s almost an impossible question to answer. Obviously, I adore the newborns and the sweet, snuggly poses that come along with them. But then at the same time, nothing can compare to a two year old and the reactions that they give you. Being there to document a bride and groom as they start there life together?! I mean there’s nothing better than that, right? Truly, we love every stage as different as they all are. And they are SOOOO different! But I have to say that watching a family grow is probably the most rewarding part of this business. Because that’s where you get it all. You see children added to the family as time goes by, and then get to see those kids go throughout the various stages of childhood. And I just might die when we, Lord willing, have the opportunity to photograph one of “our” studio kid’s weddings. I can’t wait for that day! There’s nothing like the love that radiates from a family who truly enjoys one another. So, as vague as all of that was, I’d say the family portrait is our favorite. As a mom, I certainly see it as being the most important. Sure, it’s stressful, but nothing warms my heart faster than looking back at our own family portraits from when Mak was four and Clara Beth was two. Instantly I’m taken back in time and I remember what it was like to be momma to those two precious toddlers. And I know I’ll do the same when I have teenagers and look back at this year’s family portrait.
The 2014 Family Limited Edition is coming up this Saturday (October 25th). We wanted to give those coming an idea of what to expect, so we thought we’d share Cole, Kenan, Ansley, Charlotte, and George Cole’s session with you. The first time we did a family portrait for them that pretty middle child was actually the baby and she flat out REFUSED to put her precious little feet in the beach sand. HA! My, how things have changed! Cole and Kenan, we love y’all! Thank you for letting us document your family through the years. We are blessed by your friendship!
