Florence, SC Children’s Photographer: Campbell’s Heirloom Painting

People ask us all the time what our favorite portraits are that we have displayed in our home. I mean, we probably have more portraits on our walls than the average family does, simply due to the line of work that we are in and the fact that our studio is in our home. Filling gallery walls with my babies’ faces certainly doesn’t hurt this momma’s feelings! I could stare at portraits of my kids all day long, and I know that you feel the same way about your little ones. But if the house was burning down and I was forced to only grab two, without a doubt they would be the paintings of Makgill and Clara Beth that are hanging in our dining room. Y’all. I LOVE those portraits. They are so timeless to me. Nothing trendy or out of the ordinary. Just my sweet southern barefoot little tow head babies dressed in white linen beside old iron gates. Oh, and they are barefoot. Because who can resist toddler toes, right? Absolutely, those are the portraits I would grab. So I knew exactly what Megan meant when she came in asking for this type of session for her five year old. Nothing over the top or distracting that would draw the attention away from her beautiful girl. Just a portrait that would stop time when Campbell was age five. Because we can’t stop time in reality. And who would even want to? Watching our children grow up is such a gift! Oh, but it is SO great to be able to hang on to them as tiny children forever in a portrait. Photography styles and clothing styles will most definitely change as the years go on, but this portrait will always be in fashion. We photographed Campbell in the portrait garden and her painting was just delivered to the studio today. It is exquisite!!! I can’t wait for her momma and daddy to see it and hang it on their walls! Campbell was so much fun that day and Collin and I had the best time hanging out with her. She has a spunky, fun side for sure, but the sweetest little spirit! She was a blast to spend time with!
