The last time we photographed this cutie was at The Citadel. He was crawling around all over the place, scaring me by trying to jump up and down on a park bench like a wild man, and starting to take wobbly little baby steps. Basically, he was a completely healthy, right on track developmentally, sweet as sugar one year old baby boy. Well y’all, I’m still not exactly sure what happened with Baby Beau, but one day he got sick. Really Really sick. So sick that he spent an extremely long time in the Children’s Hospital at MUSC and stumped some of the smartest doctors there. He went from a full of energy baby boy to a child who couldn’t even hold his head up on his own anymore. It’s been a long…LOOOOOONNNNGGGG road, but Beau does have a diagnosis. It’s a really long name for a really little boy: Opsoclonus Myoclonus Syndrome. OMS for short. He’s been through surgery and has to have chemo treatments regularly, and life as they know it has been completely turned upside down. Beau has good days and bad days, and thankfully when he came to see us for his latest session it was a pretty good day. He spent the session flirting with Clara Beth which she of course LOVED! Baby Beau, we love you, buddy! Can’t wait to see you again!
