I have thoroughly enjoyed everything about this Christmas break. It’s killing me that it’s over. Quite honestly, I could handle another week of snacking our way through the day, Christmas movies playing on a constant loop on the tv, and having all of the neighborhood kids in and out of the house. We actually started school back last Thursday, but today feels like our first really real day of the year. I guess because it’s the day that all of the other kids start back to school? Who knows. But the faces of the children who are sitting beside me working on multiplication and long division tell me that they feel the same way I do.
Christmas Eve was great. We had supper with everyone at Mom and Dad’s and then did the Christmas Eve service at Sandhurst. This is such a sweet time to me. Mak and CB no longer believe in Santa, but they enjoy putting out milk and cookies and playing along. They kind of think of Santa in the same way that they think of Mickey Mouse. Obviously they understand that a giant six foot magical mouse does not live in Orlando. But it’s fun to play along. And I love that.
Tracking Santa on Norad…
Our third annual photo in front of the tree on Christmas Eve.
2011…
2012…
CRAZY how they change from year to year! I love seeing the comparison and I only wish we had started it our first year in this home. Back when there was only Baby Mak running around. Good Gravy, these years are flying by FAST.
And, of course, there was a little scuffle over the computer. Keepin’ it real.
Jesse Tree!!! My very favorite of our traditions!
Cookies and milk for Santa but for the first time we didn’t put reindeer food out.
A few final snuggles with Momma and then it was time for bed!
There are hardly any pictures from Christmas morning. My parents came over and we continued our tradition of birthday coffeecake for Jesus. Then we headed to brunch at my grandmother’s, and back home to play with the new loot. As always, we ended the day with Chinese take-out, Christmas Story style. Fa-ra-ra-ra-ra.
It was the year of Art for Miss CB…
And the year of shooting and building for Mak.
She also got her very first camera. It’s pink. =)
His Christmas morning hair was AWESOME. Love. =)
Merry Christmas, Y’all!
John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
