Charley, Nicholas and Nolan

I really really and truly LOVE our job. I love watching Collin come up with new ideas and photograph in new ways. But my absolute favorite thing about this career is the amazing people that we meet. We have made incredible friends through the studio. We get the opportunity to watch babies grow up and see new little ones added to families. I have cried with clients when they have experienced heartache and prayed with them when they were scared that a child was very sick. I have rejoiced with them when scary test results came back normal. And I feel so honored to do all of those things. Truly, that is the BEST part of this career…the relationships. And, really, isn’t that what photography is all about? I mean, people come to us to document relationships. Your family is the most important thing in life and you want that special bond documented. I get that. I totally get it because I feel the same way. My kids are plastered all over the walls of my house because they are my life. Collin and I love them like crazy and we want to see them in every room we walk through throughout the day. I can see all of the ways our family has changed simply by walking up my stairs and seeing the gallery that shows the progression of baby to toddler years. So I completely get why you want these portraits of your kids. You want the love that you have for them in some sort of tangible form that you can see every day and hold onto forever and ever…even after that baby or child is grown. A portrait is a wonderful way to do that and we LOVE having the opportunity to give you that.

Amy is one of those mommas who is so incredibly in love with her family and wanted that relationship documented. And I completely understand because Collin and I have been so blessed by getting to know her family. Charley is three and the cutest little thing. A little shy at first but then FULL of giggles when she gets to know you. Oh, and she adores her baby brothers. Nicholas is two and was born with some pretty big challenges. He is his momma’s little buddy and his eyes absolutely shine when his daddy sings the Diego song to him. And then the baby, Nolan. Yep, that’s right. Three kids ages three and under. Pretty busy under the easiest of circumstances, right? Well, baby Nolan decided to make his appearance three months earlier than anyone anticipated him. Yep, he is FOUR months old in these images. And he is doing SOOO well. The love that these two parents have for their children is one you can feel when they walk into a room. And you will hear that love in her voice within thirty seconds of talking to Amy. I loved every minute of this session and feel so blessed to know this family! Charley, Nicholas and Nolan…we look forward to hanging out again soon!

I helped take care of Amy in the hospital before and after delivery, but have never seen a picture of Nolan. This is a great picture of their whole family. Great post!ReplyCancel
