Makin’ pumpkin pancakes, pretendin’ it’s the weekend…

Adding a little bit of Fall to Jack Johnson, there. 😉 So, Monday we headed down to Charleston to photograph an AMAZING family from Atlanta. CUTE twin six year old boys and a sassy little three year old princess. And they showed up with a bucket of treats for us…including a box of Trader Joe’s...

HA! They begged to do pumpkin pancakes ever since Monday night. Plus they were over-tired which makes them super silly. And Daddy makes everything more fun. They never sit on the edge of their seats like that when I’m the one at the stove!ReplyCancel

I have a great recipe for scratch pumpkin pancakes that my family LOVES. In fact, pumpkin pancakes are the only flavor we make at our house anymore!ReplyCancel

My mom turned Sixty!!!

And we celebrated at the beach. It’s fitting. Even more than Disney, it’s our family’s favorite place to be. My mom is Amazing. In fact, she deserved way more than just a little weekend. Next year I think we should celebrate for a whole week. ‘Cause I think 61 is the year of the WHOLE...

Well, Wendi, you are right. This post did make me cry. This was the best birthday ever! I had the greatest people in my world with me. Only one was missing. I am not sure what Aron meant, however, when she said I thought her kids were almost perfect. ALMOST? They ARE perfect, as well as my other five grand babies. I just don’t understand why their parents don’t see the same thing I do. Seriously, I am so very blessed to have a family that I absolutely adore being with. I can’t think of anyone I want to spend time with more. But Aron, you are correct about your dad….I am sure he will never read this. But I think your idea is a good one so you should sell it to him. After all you can get him to do things I can’t get him to do…..daddy’s little girl, you know. Thanks for this post, and thanks to all of you for a perfect birthday. I love you all.ReplyCancel

Christmas 2011!!!

I know, it’s weird. It’s not even Halloween yet and here I am plastering the blog with all things CHRISTMAS. I get that it’s early. BUT…I also know that Florence people are SERIOUS about their Christmas cards and we all know that a good Christmas card takes some planning ahead. We’re here to help! This...

    Around here…

We’re in that time of year when Collin and I frequently feel like junky parents on the weekends. All I have to say is Thank the Lord for family. And I say that in absolute seriousness. The grandparents/aunts/uncles/cousins are there to entertain and love on our sweet babes when we are away working. And Mak...

I don’t even know your kiddo and I teared up about his tooth. 🙂

I’d love to hear more about your homeschooling adventures if you’re looking for more to blog about. 😉

I definitely noticed a dip in people blogging b/c of FB, but I also think the allure of that aggravating site is coming to an end. Keep blogging, lots are reading!!ReplyCancel

I am a homeschool mom too. I love the way homeschooling gives our family freedom to do the things we love like spending time with our kids and yet the while we can get our work done too. I am so happy to see that you have such a great balance of home, family, and school.
You should have seen my daughter’s joy when she realized your son and her have the same Horizions math book. She started screaming, “He is in the second grade”. We love looking at your pictures together! Erin, I went to Southside Middle School with you. I am so happy for you that the Lord has blessed you with such blessed life.ReplyCancel

Thanks, Y’all. I think blogs in general are here for good. I feel like stuff gets lost in the shuffle of facebook, and blogs are a good way to keep track of important events, ya know? I am definitely still a blog reader, and I wish I was a better poster. Especially about homeschool stuff. It was a man who started the whole “blogs are dead” conversation I am referring to, and for men he’s probably right. At least about blogs like this one. 😉 Beth, I would LOVE to meet another Florence homeschool mom! And Chrissy, I’m really hoping that sometime in the near future you will have at least a short little stint here in good ol’ Flo-town. Then you can stay in our house and we can stay in the RV. It’ll be a vacation for both of us. 😉ReplyCancel

Reeves, Rebecca and the 3 Ts at Disney!

I may have mentioned once or twice that we are giving away a trip to WALT DISNEY WORLD this year. I’m so excited to see who the winning family will be! Collin and I knew that we wanted to do some sort of big thank you gift for our 10th Anniversary. Disney seemed like the...
