That’s not blood, it’s jelly! aka Kids are gross…Camping at James Island

A couple of weeks ago we had some sessions down in Charleston and were able to make a camping weekend out of it. Collin and I have heard from practically everybody, even non-campers, that we needed to camp at James Island County Park one day. We have been checking ever since we got the pop...

    Personal Post: Disney August 2012

It’s Friday and we got back from a short little Disney vacation on Wednesday and as a result I’m all sorts of messed up. I went around all day yesterday thinking it was Monday and today feels like Tuesday. I’m not complaining…it’s just hard to get back into a routine, ya know? And, yes, I...

SC Beach Photographer: Lilah Drew turned One!

I am running horribly, awfully behind on blogging sessions, so I’m going to try to double up on days when I can. And today is one of those days! If you remember from my post about our family beach vacation, Baby Lilah Drew turned one last month. And one morning on vacation we convinced my...

        Personal Post: 1 Down, 179 To Go…

Actually, I could title that One and a half down, One hundred seventy-eight and a half to go because as I’m writing this post we’re halfway into Day 2 of the 2012-2013 School Year. Or the “Honeymoon Phase” as I like to call it. They’re both having a good time right now and kind of...

Congrats on another year! My, now 23 and 25 year old, home schooled kids are still great friends. Even though Melody is married and Josh is engaged, they remain bonded in a special way. I contribute that to 12 years of home education 🙂

Josh had the amazing opportunity to study last semester, as an honors exchange student, in Caen, France. When he listed the top 10 things he missed most about the states, missing his Sister was number 2…..(number 1 was the internet)…I thought that was really sweet! (And of course, his now fiancé was WITH him, studying in Caen, or I am sure she would have knocked Mel to the #3 spot! 🙂

Keep pressing on! Many blessings for an excellent school year!ReplyCancel

LOVElovelove it! I NEED CB’s red desk. I have quite the collection of desks going thanks to my antique obsession of late, but none of them are quite right. Thankfully, we’re going to an antique show/open air market this weekend that specializes in mid-century modern pieces. :D:D:D Hoping to snag something awesome. I love the clock idea and the giant maps.

We have a room of sorts going in the basement that I know we will never use. The dining room table just seems to work. :/

My plan was to start June 1(then pushed back to July 1) but that hasn’t happened. I’m aiming for September 1 at this point!

I look forward to many more posts about successful homeschooling. 🙂ReplyCancel

Love hearing you describe their relationship and how they interact! (and I love that you are organized enough to start school now!) Still a bit jealous that I dont have the patience to not but heads with N enough to homeschool 🙂 You, my friend, amaze me in so many ways!!ReplyCancel

Thank you for the words of encouragement, Scarlett! What you wrote about is my biggest wish for them!

Chrissy, I am LOVING antique desks right now, too. I could fill the school room with them! I also wish I had a place for one of those old school roll-up school maps. I found one but unfortunately it’s too big to hang on any of my walls. =( I hope you find great stuff this weekend! Also, I’m really wanting to do a MD camping trip. How close are y’all to DC?

Michelle, there is more head-butting in this house than you could ever imagine. I promise it’s not nearly as hard as you think it is! Well, some days are, but that’s just part of parenting, right? 😉 You would be AMAZING at this!!!ReplyCancel
