I have been waiting on this baby for a loooong time. Do you know somebody that you don’t “really know” yet you see them all the time and you have a connection with them? Kira and Doug, Maylee’s sweet momma and daddy are that couple to us. We first met them at a bridal show many years ago. We chatted and kind of got to know each other. Then we would randomly see them off and on throughout the years. At Target, once or twice at The Novel Event, and at pretty much any local show that we participated in. Each time we would catch up and talk about how eventually…when babies started to join their family…we wanted to photograph them. Finally it happened! Kira told me she was expecting and we were SO thrilled for them. We randomly met several times throughout the pregnancy…always at Target…and then finally saw them again right around Christmas (again at Target!). Collin and I were wrapping up Christmas shopping for the kids and there they were, two cash registers over. I was so excited to see them. I knew exactly how Kira felt because eight years earlier, I was very pregnant at Christmastime with our firstborn. We talked again about baby portraits and I got to rub her sweet belly. Don’t worry, I asked first. I absolutely love a pregnant belly but I’m not in the practice of just going up and touching it. That’s creepy. 😉 About a month later Maylee was born and we got to meet her at her newborn session. She is an amazing little girl and Kira and Doug are wonderful with her. They are a beautiful little family, and Collin and I can’t wait to really get to know them over the next few years! Kira and Doug, thank you for bringing your sweet girl to us!
