A new blog is on the way!!

I have slowly been running out of space for my blog, so I have decided to tie it directly in with my website. The new blog will be at www.cmsmithportraits.com/blog. I will be transfering all of the albums, slideshows, and links over to the new one, but the posts will need to stay behind. So,...

    Hey, Jude

Last night we had the privilege of photographing a brand new baby boy, Jude, with his family in the hospital. This is a project that Aron has been wanting to get started for quite a while, and we were finally able to get something going. Some of our absolute favorite photographs of our children are...

Thanks so much guys for letting us be involved in this special time! Collin and I had so much fun and we talked about your beautiful family all night. Also, Happy Happy Birthday to Abby! You are such a sweet and beautiful girl. I hope the strawberry cupcakes were great! Thank you again, and enjoy that precious new baby Jude!

Collin & Aron- how do I say thank you for capturing memories that are forever etched in my mind and on my heart? You truly captured our family of 6- I don’t know how you took the chaos of our hopsital room and made it look so peaceful and picture perfect! I am in your debt for allowing our families and friends peek into our life at one of our most cherished times! Thank you seems like not enough to say, but I am so appreciative!ReplyCancel

    Florence Literacy Council

I had the privilege of being the photographer for the Florence Literacy Council’s annual fundraiser on Saturday night. I say privilege because…well just watch the slide-show and you will understand. Sponsors dress as characters from their favorite book. This group REALLY gets into this. I had a blast, and I think everyone involved had even...

      Collin,

What a great job you did on the Novel Event. We appreciate you “tolerating” all of us who were in character!
      Thanks for your hard work.

It looks like the party was great fun. Hiowever, I found the slide presentation almost irritating to watch, with some pictures flashing on the screen for only a split second, making it impossible to tell what was being shown in many frames. Perhaps this is the ‘technique du jour’, but without the ability to adjust the speed of the show, I didn’t get as much out of it as I could. Also, this black background with the light colored letters is hard on the eyes.
      Other wise, it was nice…ReplyCancel

      To EJH
I am sorry for the speed of the slideshow. It is intended to continue the fun atmosphere of the night. However,if you click on the grid at the lower right of the slideshow, it will bring up all of the photos for you to click on each one. As for the black screen, yes it is a little hard on the eyes. It hurts mine if I look too long. That is purely and asthetic decision on my part. Sorry again for the confusion, please email or call with anymore questions.ReplyCancel

Another background option for our Special Edition Angel Portraits

Today we wanted to try another look for our Angel portraits. On a white background, we thought we might get a softer sweeter look. We did, but we do not know which look we prefer. Help us out and leave some feedback about which you like better. Thanks to Clara Beth and Lilah for being...

I think I like the darker background better b/c the kids stand out a little more. The ones of Ashleigh & Nataleigh are precious!!!ReplyCancel

I think that I like the ones on the dark background the best–especially the ones of our adorable Isabella 🙂 !!
She really enjoyed her first photo shoot!!ReplyCancel

I would have to go with the white back ground. It makes the images seem softer and more like clouds for the “little angels”ReplyCancel

Hey, your pictures are beautiful. I love the darker background. I found myself more captivated by them. They were all good though!ReplyCancel

Angel portraits. Something new for me.

OK, we are working on some Special Edition portrait sessions for this spring. We are working out the details, so check back and watch ads for time and place. I would love to get some feedback on what everyone thinks (leave comments) so I know if I am on the right track. Anyway, we worked...
