Georgetown, SC Photographer: Mary Ainsley

Oh, my heart is hurting so much this morning! Y’all, I love this town. I love the shops, the oak-lined streets, the cute little cottages, and the giant, stately old homes. There is so much history and beauty in this little Southern town and it breaks my heart to think of that tiny but significant stretch of our state engulfed in flames. And it’s all small businesses, which hurts my heart even more. When Collin saw the first reports at 6:00 this morning, my thoughts immediately went to the one thing in Georgetown that is dearest to my heart…Tomlinsons. It’s one of my very favorites of our family stores (And when I say “our” please know that I have no real ownership in this! My great grandfather began Tomlinsons years and years ago, my father and brother still work there, and it will always be “mine” in my heart.). Praise Jesus, the store is not in danger, but I can only imagine that the lurch I felt in my heart when I first heard of the fires can be multiplied by a million for those store owners who are affected. Please pray for all involved…those putting their lives on the line to fight the flames, their families, the store owners, and the people of Georgetown. Pray that this will be contained quickly.

And here is the Beautiful Miss Mary Ainsley in Georgetown. This was such a fun day! Hoping for many more like it in the future.
